Local Services Ads Setup
Local Services Ads set up for your trade, through Google’s screening and ready to take leads
Local Services Ads appear at the top of Google search results for trades such as plumbers, electricians, cleaners and roofers. They carry a Google Verified badge, and you pay for each lead, a call or message from a customer, not for each click. We set up your account, your profile and your service area, take you through Google’s screening, and set the budget and the lead alerts. £195, one-off.
How they differ from Google Search adverts
There are no keywords and no clicks to pay for. Google matches your advert to searches for the jobs you say you do, in the area you say you cover, and charges you when a customer calls or messages you through it. Before the adverts can run, Google screens the business.
What is included
-
Eligibility checked first
Whether Google offers Local Services Ads for your trade and your area in the UK, checked on the free call, before you pay anything.
-
Your account, in your name
A Local Services Ads account in your business’s name, on your card, linked to our manager account so we can work in it.
-
Your profile and service area
The jobs you take and the jobs you do not, the towns or postcodes you cover, your opening hours, business details and photos, with your Google Business Profile linked so your reviews show.
-
Google’s screening, prepared with you
The business check, your public liability insurance and, where your trade needs one, your licence, gathered and submitted with you. Google screens the business itself; on average it takes three to four weeks.
-
Budget, bidding and lead alerts
A weekly budget you choose, bidding set either to get as many leads as the budget allows or to a maximum you will pay per lead, and calls and messages sent to the phone and email you choose, with alerts on so you can answer quickly.
-
A record, and a check of your first leads
A one-page record of every setting. Two weeks after your adverts start, we go through the first leads with you and adjust the job types, service area and budget.

Questions
Can you guarantee Google approves my business?
No. Google runs the screening and makes the decision. We check eligibility before you pay, and prepare the screening details with you so nothing is missing.
Do I pay for leads that are not right for me?
Possibly. In some countries Google credits leads it judges to be poor quality, but its help page says lead credits are not available for advertisers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (how leads work). That makes the job types and the service area the main protection, which is why they are set carefully and checked against your first leads.
What happens when Local Services Ads move into Google Ads?
Google is moving Local Services Ads into Google Ads as a Performance Max campaign with pay-per-lead goals, and accounts outside the US move in 2027. Google says your verified status and Google Verified badge transfer automatically, along with your settings and lead history (Google’s announcement).
Do I have to sign up for monthly management?
No. It is a one-off. The account stays in your name, and you keep every setting.
Who is it for?
Trades and home services that visit customers, such as plumbers, electricians, cleaners and roofers, in an area where Google offers Local Services Ads.
